Elevating care for Uniting’s residents and employees: Holding a hand, not a pen

Delivering better care amid changing times

Caring for the aging and disadvantaged population is one of the pressing issues today, especially after the pandemic. But the industry is up against critical challenges, from the changing regulatory landscape to skilled labour shortage and technology disruption. Best-in-class care happens when those who do the caring are at their best, but this can only happen if they have the right systems, processes, and procedures that support them.

Adapting to the future of work and patient care

Emerging from the pandemic, Uniting NSW.ACT embarked on its bold, 10-year strategy to “Disrupt entrenched disadvantage to create a better future for more people and communities.” To achieve this, they needed to turn their attention inward and make work life better for their frontline employees so they could focus on holding a hand, not a pen. In this interview, discover how Uniting NSW.ACT started their people transformation journey to support their goal, how they got their leaders on board, and the steps they are taking to achieve success.
